It’s not often a business-to-business technology company serving some of the largest hospital systems in the nation can directly impact early childhood education, yet the leadership of Swisslog Healthcare strives to accomplish just that with a recent donation to Reach Out & Read Colorado.
In December, Swisslog Healthcare exhibited at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and Conference, the largest industry event in the United States for pharmacy professionals. The event was a catalyst powering the donation of 800 books to the important non-profit program advocating for childhood literacy.
As single source provider of efficiency-creating solutions that help hospitals manage the medication supply chain and transport critical materials, employees of Swisslog Healthcare are committed to improving patient care and patient experiences. Among the patients impacted are infants and young children.
“Several of our field service technicians have poignant stories to tell about helping neonatal critical care units expedite patient care using our pneumatic tube systems to move blood or specimens. Others can share anecdotes from nurses who appreciate the security and peace of mind afforded by our pharmacy automation solutions helping ensure the highest degrees of medication accuracy for patients,” comments Michael Blondin, Vice President of Solutions and Marketing.
We leveraged the volume of booth visitors to drive the size of our donation to Reach Out and Read Colorado. We also invited booth attendees to capture photos of themselves with Savioke Relay® robot. The “selfie” style photos published on various social media channels in combination with specified hashtags generated additional book donations.”
Emmi Martini, Solutions Marketing Manager
The ASHP Conference afforded Swisslog Healthcare an opportunity to connect its primary business focus with the patients whose lives are improved through quality medical care. The highly attended conference in Anaheim provided record numbers of foot traffic to the Swisslog Healthcare booth.
“We leveraged the volume of booth visitors to drive the size of our donation to Reach Out and Read Colorado,” explains Solutions Marketing Manager Emmi Martini. “Every person who learned about the PillPick product through our augmented reality experience equaled a donation. We also invited booth attendees to capture photos of themselves with Savioke Relay® robot, an autonomous service robot that moves seamlessly within busy corridors like those in hospitals to transport medications or specimens to departments where they’re needed. The “selfie” style photos published on various social media channels in combination with specified hashtags generated additional book donations.” The ratio for the corporate gift was 1:1.
Broomfield, Colorado is home to Swisslog Healthcare’s North America operations. By selecting the Colorado chapter of Reach Out and Read as the recipient of the company’s philanthropic efforts, it furthers the mission of giving young children a foundation for success.
