Reach Out and Read Colorado to Accept Cryptocurrency Donations on #CryptoGivingTuesday, set for Nov. 30, 2021

Nov 18, 2021— Reach Out and Read Colorado, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Denver, will accept charitable donations in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies throughout its end-of-year fundraising campaign, beginning with #CryptoGivingTuesday on November 30.

Since 2019, #CryptoGivingTuesday has fostered a culture of philanthropy among cryptocurrency users, a demographic which now exceeds 220 million worldwide. Similar to Giving Tuesday, which falls on the same day, #CryptoGivingTuesday helps organizations like Reach Out and Read Colorado promote their causes to potential supporters—in this case, the donations come in cryptocurrency, rather than cash, credit card, or check.

Given the rise in value and popularity of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Reach Out and Read Colorado, an early literacy organization serving Colorado’s youngest children, chose to diversify its revenue streams by accepting crypto donations this fall through a secure, trusted platform called The Giving Block.

“Today, ‘crypto traders’ are the fastest growing donor demographic and the number of leading nonprofit organizations that accept cryptocurrency donations has skyrocketed. We see a future where cryptocurrency donations are a staple of every nonprofit organization’s fundraising strategy,” says Pat Duffy, Co-Founder of The Giving Block.

Reach Out and Read Colorado will be joined in #CryptoGivingTuesday fundraising efforts by its partner, The Giving Block, which provides technological solutions and support to charities that want to accept cryptocurrency donations.
