In August 2022, Altitude Pediatrics, Altitude Pediatrics began a pediatric clinic literacy partnership with Reach Out and Read Colorado, supporting early literacy in Mesa County. Within the first year, the clinic far surpassed the expected number of well-child visits for a new practice.
Launching a successful clinic during a pandemic required dedication, teamwork, and strong leadership. Altitude Pediatrics rose to the challenge with an outstanding provider team and the support of an exceptional Site Coordinator, Shannon Morlan.
Today, Altitude Pediatrics, through its pediatric clinic literacy partnership with Reach Out and Read Colorado, is Mesa County’s largest partner clinic. Shannon consistently goes above and beyond managing the Reach Out and Read program, ensuring families receive high-quality books at every visit.
Shannon understands the importance of provider testimonials in securing funding for Reach Out and Read Colorado and actively encourages clinicians to share meaningful stories. As a result, the entire clinic has fully embraced Reach Out and Read and remains deeply committed to supporting early literacy throughout Mesa County.
