Attention Reach Out and Read Colorado partner clinics-
Give your waiting room, exam rooms, or book storage a literacy makeover this spring!
How To Apply:
Fill out the short application and tell us what you would like to do no later than May 1st. If you manage multiple sites, fill one out for each site.
We will do our best to say ‘yes’ to as many clinics as possible as long as funding allows.

With some pandemic protocols lifting that allow gently used books back in waiting rooms, Reach Out and Read Colorado has allocated some extra funding to give to select clinics to help renovate literacy-rich spaces. The spaces that our clinics use to encourage reading and distribute books vary, so we want you to tell us how much funding you need and how you would like to use it.
Below are some examples:
- Give your waiting room a makeover!
Purchase a book shelf, a rug, small table and chairs, and some artwork for the walls. Create an inviting space for kids and their families to get lost in a book while they are waiting. - Create a gently used book system in each exam room.
Consider buying bins, labels, and signs so that there are gently used books for families to take home from each exam room. - Organize the storage of your new RORCO books that providers use at well child visits.
Maybe you need dividers, new bins, stacking shelves, or a tall bookshelf to create a better space for all of your new books for well visits.
LEVELS OF FUNDING
We created several levels of funding to help guide you in the financial request.

- SMALL $400: We do not need a ton – just an item or two.
OR We need organization supplies to store our new RORCO books. - MEDIUM $800: We are hoping to update some of our space or several spaces in our clinic.
- LARGE $1,200: We would love to do a complete makeover!
