Reach Out and Read Colorado hosted our annual Breakfast for Dinner at Snooze Southglenn on February 10, 2026! It featured storytime with a local children’s book author – John Morgridge, a book fundraiser, and a breakfast buffet generously provided by Snooze.

Proceeds from the event will provide books and literacy guidance at over 230 well-child visits this year for Colorado children.

About Our Local Children's Book Author
John C. Morgridge is a Denver-based children’s book author and the creator of the Maggie Moo children’s series. The series includes Maggie Moo and the Golden Eyes, Maggie Moo and the Moonlight Dancer, and Maggie Moo and the Multicolored Castle. Through vivid storytelling and engaging illustrations by Kristin McClaren-Abbott, John’s books take young readers on memorable journeys that explore the power of kindness, empathy, play, and understanding how others may experience the world differently. When John isn’t playing with his children and writing more books, he serves as a Program Officer for the Morgridge Family Foundation.
John lives in Denver with his wife and two children, Sophie and John, who serve as his inspiration for every story he writes. He hopes that his children’s books bring joy to young readers while offering families a way to connect on important social-emotional topics. Ideal for children ages 6-8, the Maggie Moo series not only captivates young imaginations but also offers valuable life lessons in an accessible and engaging way, with each book including thought-provoking questions designed to spark meaningful conversations between parents and children.
