Reach Out and Read Colorado welcomed Anne Tengler as its new executive director on April 8.
Anne has served in leadership, management, and volunteer board roles for leading nonprofits for over 25 years. A former CEO and business owner serving Latino communities in Colorado, Arizona, and Texas, Anne’s expertise in growing and scaling her business have allowed her to help nonprofits increase impact and efficiency, tell their stories and raise their profiles more effectively, and build healthy organizational cultures. She has been a nonprofit consultant or team member for dozens of mission-driven organizations.
Most recently as VP of Marketing and Executive team member for Book Trust, a national literacy nonprofit serving elementary school children in Title I schools, Anne helped grow Book Trust’s footprint from 19 to 22 states, and revenues from $3.5MM to $5.5MM in under two years.

As a consultant, Anne has helped Denver and Chicago-area nonprofits whose missions focus on homelessness, addiction and mental health, access for those with disabilities, access to healthcare, and environmental stewardship. Early literacy and grade-level reading proficiency have been of particular importance to Anne throughout her career.
A Colorado resident for over twenty years, Anne lives in Denver with her husband. She is a longtime mentor in the Latino Entrepreneur Leadership program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and is an avid reader and traveler.
