We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Molina Foundation for donating over 26,000 books to Reach Out and Read clinics across Colorado! The Molina Foundation, a national nonprofit based in California, distributed these books as part of their Launch into Learning campaign, which was designed to provide educational resources to help children in Colorado get ready for the return to school and aid families in building home libraries.
This was a huge undertaking for clinics across Colorado as they completed a grant application and drove from as far away as Montrose and Alamosa to pick up books in Denver on August 17th. Representatives from Reach Out and Read Colorado clinics lined up in cars, trucks and vans at a warehouse in Westminster to pick up anywhere from 250 to over 5500 brand-new children’s storybooks. Staff and volunteers from the Molina Foundation packed vehicles full of boxes of beautiful new books, which then made their way back to clinics and will be handed out to kids over the coming weeks and months.
In addition to partnering with Reach Out and Read Colorado, the Molina Foundation distributed thousands of additional books to community partners throughout Colorado. We would like to thank everyone at the Molina Foundation for making such a generous contribution to support literacy in Colorado!
