On Thursday, 8/17 we went LIVE on Facebook with Ellen Braun, Deputy Director at the Denver Preschool Program.
Ellen shared why preschool is important, tips on when and how to enroll, what to look for when it comes to high-quality preschool, and so much more. Ellen joined the Denver Preschool Program in 2010. In her tenure, she has worn a variety of hats, from managing the preschool provider community to special events, operations, community outreach and, most recently, communications.
The Denver Preschool Program supports Denver families by offering tuition credits to increase access to high-quality preschool. Find a preschool near you at www.dpp.org/find-a-preschool-app. You can also enter your background information to estimate your monthly tuition credit by program. Unlike most preschool tuition assistance programs, the Denver Preschool Program is for ALL Denver families, regardless of income or neighborhood.
Reach Out and Read Colorado + the Denver Preschool Program
Sharing books with your children helps build strong brains and increases language skills. That is why your health care providers partners with Reach Out and Read Colorado to prescribe your child a brand new, developmentally- and language- appropriate book in the exam room. The skills your child learns from being read to starting from birth are enriched by attending preschool. At preschool, your child will talk, read, sing and play. It is an opportunity for children to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to walk through the kindergarten door ready to succeed.
