Mary Zavadil, M.D.
Pediatrician, Children’s Medical Center
Favorite Children’s Books: Goodnight Gorilla by
I grew up in California and New Mexico, in a family of eight voracious readers and moved to Denver in 1986 with my husband to do my pediatric residency. We have lived here ever since, raising our four children and loving Colorado! My husband Greg Gutierrez is a doctor in the Denver Health system and I have practiced pediatrics at Children’s Medical Center since finishing my residency. I am a very appreciative Reach Out and Read provider and have attended the fundraiser breakfast every year. I particularly love the bilingual books since that is a focus of our practice. I love children of all ages: my own, their friends and my patients. I am also a fanatic knitter, have been part of a wonderful book club for 27 years and sing with Greg in the Community Choir Voices Rock. I am thrilled with the chance to serve on the Reach Out and Read Colorado board and look forward to the next three years.
